What to look for in a spiritual teacher
When looking for a spiritual teacher, two of the most important things to use are intuition and discernment.
When choosing whether or not to work with someone, trust your intuition! When looking for a program, teacher or mentor, look for someone whose energy and teachings align with yours.
It’s also important to pay attention to integrity– where did this personal learn what they are teaching? Do they actually have experience practicing it? Are there testimonials and experiences to back up their claims?
Discernment is also key, as not everyone is necessarily who they claim to be. I couldn’t be happier that more and more women and men are stepping up and starting to own their power as healers and as conscious, spiritual souls.
They are stepping out of the “spiritual closet.” More people are coming forward as lightworkers and light leaders than ever before. Many are beginning to see and understand their own Divinity.
Some are doing this professionally and some are doing it for themselves and their families. This is a beautiful thing. But, so many healers and teachers lack the foundational skills, tools and techniques they need to work with their gifts with authentic confidence and clarity.
They lack focus, direction and spiritual discernment. For instance, they are unable to tell the difference between their own inner voice (that voice that we all have inside our heads) and the divine downloads and messages they receive from Angels, Ascended Masters, Light Beings and from Source or the Creator of All That is.
There are also those who may be operating with bad intent. Before you begin working with someone, really tune in. Take a moment to feel into the energy, and notice how it feels in your body. If it feels tight or heavy I recommend finding someone else.
What should I expect in a spiritual guidance program?
Though it varies by modality, spiritual guidance programs typically cover a few key things. First, you’ll likely learn the history and theory behind that specific energy healing modality.
Then, you’ll probably learn about energy itself and the energy fields of the body. Then, you’ll learn the technique of that particular modality, as well as get some practice with them.
Some energy healing training, like Sacred Soul Alignment, will also teach you about how to work with clients and begin to establish your business.
Typically, these programs last anywhere from a few weeks to a few years, depending on how comprehensive they are. And although there isn’t any specific regulation or license required for an energy healer, you’ll likely get a certificate at the end of your training program.
Another amazing benefit of spiritual programs is the community they offer. Especially for spiritual teachers and healers, having a community to support you and a mentor to guide you are invaluable.
When you join an energy healing training program, you have access to an intimate and powerful community of like-minded people who you can learn from and share wisdom with.
Additionally, you’ll have a teacher or mentor to be on hand to connect with you directly and provide additional support. In many cases, you will also have opportunities for practicing the modality with other students.
Learning from someone who has experience doing this work is invaluable to your energy healing practice, both on a practical level and a spiritual level.
A teacher or mentor will be able to guide you through the process, ensuring you have the right tools and methods to effectively guide others.
How to become a spiritual healer.
If you are passionate about and committed to helping others heal, then you would likely find great joy and success as a spiritual healer! Though there are no “official” programs or accreditations required to become a spiritual teacher, it’s important to learn from someone who has experience walking this path.
As the world collectively ascends, the demand for spiritual healers is increasing. According to WebMD, people are increasingly turning to complementary and alternative medicine to address their issues. This tells us that now is the best time to get into the world of spiritual healing. As the public’s interest in alternative medicine modalities increases, so do the opportunities to find success doing this work.
